Daily Sample Menu

We plate and serve breakfast and dinner for a single-seating meal in the dining rooms of each lodge.  One entrée is featured at each meal.  There are always vegetarian options at breakfast and a vegetarian entrée each night at dinner.  Below is an example of what one day's breakfast, lunch and dinner menu might look like during your stay.  Please bear in mind that these particular entrées may not be offered while you are with us, or might be prepared differently.

 

Breakfast

Self-service Cereal Bar
wheat and barley flake hot cereal, homemade nutty granola, homemade yoghurt, milk, soy milk, fresh sliced bananas, dried fruit and toasted nuts

Mushroom, Leek and Jarlsberg Quiche
savory crust, generous side of fresh fruit

Hearty Bran Muffin with Raisins

Chilled Orange Juice

 

Sack Lunch

Sandwich Makings
fresh whole grain bread; savory wraps; homemade sliced roast beef; white bean pesto; roasted vegetable platter; greenhouse lettuce; sprouts; sliced tomato and red onion;
traditional sandwich condiments

Additional Sack Lunch Items
savory gorp of sesame sticks, rice crackers, tamari roasted almonds and pumpkin seeds; carrot sticks; dried fruit leathers; fresh gingersnap cookies; ice water and lemonade

 

Dinner

Seeded Whole Grain Baguette

Greenhouse Salad
greenhouse greens, spiced pecans, sliced apples, gorgonzola, maple balsamic dressing

Pan Seared Alaskan Halibut
braised French lentils, Rosie Creek Farm baby turnips and carrots, roasted cherry tomato and herb vinaigrette 

(Vegetarian Entree) North African Stew
garbanzo beans, seasonal vegetables, dried apricots stewed with aromatic spices, couscous, toasted almonds, parsley and cilantro chermoula

Rhubarb Strawberry Cobbler
locally-grown rhubarb, fresh strawberries, oat and nut crumble,
cardamom vanilla whipped cream
