For Families

Our lodges, especially Camp Denali, can be exciting places for families to learn and experience Denali National Park together. Being "unplugged" from TVs, computers, and gadgets allows time to be active, explore, and watch wildlife in action. Our fixed menu incorporates healthy, organic ingredients and introduces more refined cuisine. Propane lights and wood stoves pique curiosity about frontier living and our history.

We particularly encourage families with children 8 years old and over to join us based on the following:

  • The interpretive bus ride to the lodges is long and it often follows an early morning start out of Anchorage or Fairbanks.
  • We do not offer day care, and younger kids may require more adult supervision than would be necessary at home.
  • Because of their increased stamina and curiosity, children 8 years old and over may benefit more from day-long hikes and field trips in mixed age groups with diverse interests.

We are happy to talk with you by phone to help you decide if Camp Denali or North Face Lodge is a good fit for your family.

60 years of Camp Denali

We're celebrating our 60th anniversary at Camp Denali in 2012!  Over the years, there have been some changes, but the vision of Camp Denali's founders still guides us. All summer long, we'll be celebrating the pioneer spirit and 60 years of sharing our unique perspective of Denali with visitors from around the world.
